Is it a photoghaph or not ? The answer is... no. Several layers were used in order to detail the skin ( small marks, freckles, pores, eyelashes... ). A lot of work, but the results are worth it.

At last ! After several centuries of constant smiling, Mona Lisa is taking a break...

For this illustration, I used several layers to imitate the "crevices" and the aging of the old Da Vinci's painting.

This illustration is inspired by "Tron" movie. Most of the work was dedicated to cover the girl's body with the "printed circuit" suit, and giving it a "glow" style.
