Háblanos un poco acerca de ti…

Nací en Barcelona en 1974, soy el menor de 5 hermanos y compagino mi afición por la ilustración erótica con el diseño gráfico e industrial. Mi padre, de joven, también hizo sus pinitos con el desnudo femenino, y mi hermano pinta al óleo ( no necesariamente temas eróticos ), así que supongo que gran parte de esa afición por el dibujo y la ilustración me viene de ellos. De forma autodidacta, al principio usaba lápices de colores, más adelante probé con el aerógrafo, y finalmente y gracias a Dios… aparecieron Photoshop y las tabletas gráficas !!!

Tell us a little about yourself ...

I was born in Barcelona in 1974, I am the youngest of 5 brothers and combine my love for erotic illustration with graphic / industrial design. My father, when he was young, also took his first steps with the female nude, and my brother paints in oils ( not necessarily erotic subjects ), so I guess much of that taste for drawing and illustration comes from them. Self-taught, initially used crayons, later tried the airbrush, and finally and thank goodness ... appeared Photoshop and graphic tablets!

¿ Es así como realizas tus ilustraciones ?

Si, todas son creaciones totalmente digitales. Aunque en ocasiones también aporto un toque tradicional, mediante texturas escaneadas. Básicamente, una tableta gráfica es como una pizarra ( suelen ser de tamaño A5 o incluso más pequeñas ), sobre la que se trabaja con un lápiz especial, que transfiere los trazos al ordenador. Ya que estas tabletas son sensibles a la presión, cuanto más aprietas sobre ella, más “pintura” se deposita en la imagen.

El hecho de trabajar digitalmente aporta un sinfín de ventajas, además de agilizar enormemente el trabajo. Puedes incorporar efectos muy difíciles de conseguir usando técnicas tradicionales. Por no decir que siempre estás a tiempo de deshacer cualquier estropicio. Vamos, que el “no me gusta cómo está quedando” ya no sirve…

Is this the way you do your illustrations ?

Yes, all they are totally digital creations. Although sometimes I also bring a traditional feel, with scanned textures. Basically, a graphic tablet is like a blackboard ( usually A5 size or even smaller ), on which you work with a special pen, which transfers the strokes into the computer . Since these tablets are pressure sensitive, the more you push on the surface of the tablet, the more "paint" is deposited on the “canvas”.

Working with digital media provides plenty of advantages, in addition to greatly accelerate the work. You can add effects very difficult to achieve using traditional techniques. Not to mention that you are always in time to undo any mess. So, that "I do not like the results" no longer serves ...

¿ Cuándo decidiste probar suerte como ilustrador ?

Llevo varios años haciendo ilustraciones, principalmente por hobby. Hace algo más de dos años, me di cuenta de que tenía bastante material acumulado, así que me puse manos a la obra y abrí mi página web para darlo a conocer. Desde entonces he recibido varios encargos, principalmente del Reino Unido.

When did you decide to try your luck as an illustrator ?

I have been doing illustrations for several years, mainly as a hobby. Just over two years ago, I realized that I had accumulated enough material, So I get to work and opened my website to make it known. Since then I have received several commissions, mainly from the United Kingdom.

¿ Cuáles son tus influencias artísticas ? ¿ Qué ilustradores son tus referentes ?

Hay muchos, pero los que más destacaría son Olivia de Berardinis, Drew Posada, Hajime Sorayama, Dave Nestler, Ricky Carralero, Armando Huerta… También me gustan Victoria Francés, Boris Vallejo, Alphonse Mucha, Stefano Mazzotti, Carlos Díez, Lorenzo Sperlonga, Eric Drudwyn …

Which are your artistic influences? And your favourite illustrators ?

There are many, but the ones that stand out are Olivia de Berardinis, Drew Posada, Hajime Sorayama, Dave Nestler, Ricky Carralero, Armando Huerta ... I also like Victoria Francés, Boris Vallejo, Alphonse Mucha, Stefano Mazzotti, Carlos Diez, Lorenzo Sperlonga, Eric Drudwyn ...

¿ Con qué tipo de ilustraciones disfrutas más ?

Pues no tengo una “temática favorita”, por así decirlo. Me satisface de igual manera trabajar en una culturista que en un retrato de primer plano, o una ilustración lésbica… La verdad es que depende de muchos factores, principalmente el estado de ánimo. Hay ocasiones en las que te sientes más romántico y otras prefieres temas “hard”…

What kind of artwork you enjoy the most ?

I don’t have a "favourite topic". I am equally pleased to work in a culturist woman that in a close-up picture or a lesbian picture... The truth is that depends on many factors, mainly the mood. Sometimes you feel more romantic and sometimes you prefer "hard" topics ...

Siempre dibujas mujeres… ¿ No es tu arte un poco enfermizo ?

Bueno, seguro que habrá gente que piense eso, pero me trae sin cuidado. De hecho, creo que todos tenemos nuestro lado oscuro, a nuestra manera… Todo el mundo tiene sus fantasías eróticas. Lo único que yo hago es plasmarlas y mostrarlas al mundo. A quien no le guste mi trabajo, que no lo mire.

You always draw women ... Your art is a little “sick”, isn’t it ?

Well, for sure there are people who think that, but I don’t care. In fact, I think we all have our dark side, in some way ... Everyone has their erotic fantasies. The only thing I do is capture them and show them to the world. If there’s anybody who don’t like my work, don’t look at it.

¿ Te han censurado alguna vez alguno de tus dibujos ?

Bueno, si, podríamos llamarlo así. Pero prefiero no entrar en ese tema. Como ya he dicho, quien no esté conforme con lo que ve, no tiene ninguna obligación de visitar mi web. Hay demasiada hipocresía por el mundo, y personalmente creo que las personas que se dedican a censurar o criticar una obra ( ya sea una ilustración, una película o una canción ) son gente reprimida. Tal vez suene duro, pero es así como yo lo veo…

Do you have ever been censored some of your drawings ?

Well, if we might call it that. But I'd rather not to enter into that topic. As I said, if anybody doesn’t agree with what he sees, has no obligation to visit my website. There is too much hypocrisy in the world, and I personally think that people who are devoted to censure or criticize a work ( either a picture, a movie or a song ) are repressed people. It may sound hard, but that's how I see it ...

¿ Vas a mantener la misma línea en cuanto a la estética ?

De momento si, aunque en un futuro… ¿ quién sabe ? Soy consciente de que mi estilo ha ido evolucionando a medida que he ido adquiriendo experiencia y rapidez. Ahora soy capaz de hacer cosas que hace unos años no veía cómo conseguir. Al principio, mis ilustraciones eran básicamente trabajos de aerografía, sin embargo ahora he desarrollado una técnica para simular la piel humana que da resultados realmente sorprendentes, y en un tiempo más que razonable. Así que supongo que dentro de un tiempo volveré a “mutar” ( artísticamente hablando, claro ).

Are you going to keep the same line in terms of aesthetics ?

Yes for the moment, but in the future ... who knows? I am aware that my style has evolved as I have gained experience and speed. Now I can do things that I couldn’t see how to achieve a few years ago. At first, my artwork was basically airbrush work, but now I have developed a technique to simulate human skin that works surprisingly well, and in a more than reasonable time. So I guess after a while I will "mutate" again ( artistically speaking, of course ).

Tus ilustraciones van desde lo más inocente a lo más perverso… ¿ Reflejan tus fantasías ?

Si, desde luego… ( risas ). Ahora en serio… Dejando aparte los trabajos por encargo, en los que lógicamente el cliente manda y no tienes tanta libertad para hacer lo que te plazca, pues si. De hecho, tengo una filosofía muy particular cuando estoy buscando inspiración para un nuevo trabajo: “si no te gusta, no lo dibujes”. De lo contrario… ¿ qué sentido tiene ?.
 

Your illustrations go from the most innocent to the most perverse ... Do they reflect your fantasies ?

Yes, of course ... ( laughs ). But seriously ... Apart from the commissioned works, where the client “is the boss” and you don’t have much freedom to do what you please, yes. In fact, I have a very unique philosophy when I'm looking for inspiration for a new job: "If you do not like it, do not draw it." Otherwise ... what's the point?.

Hajime Sorayama, sin dudarlo ni un segundo. Ese tío hace magia…

You've told us your artistic influences, but ... Who is your favourite illustrator ?

Hajime Sorayama, without any doubt. That guy does magic ...

Por último ¿ Podrías decirnos de qué obra estás más orgulloso ?

Ufffffff !!! No me hagas decidir…. Normalmente, mi última creación es mi favorita ( risas ).

Ufffffff! Don’t make me decide .... Normally, my latest creation is my favourite ( laughs ).
